Achim Wascher

My name is Achim Wascher.

I was born and grew up in Wolfsberg in Carinthia. After finishing compulsory school, I completed an apprenticeship as a chimney sweep and worked in this profession for several years. After completing the Berufsreifeprüfung (2013), I began theological training at the Evangelical Academy in Vienna, initially in the form of a part-time distance learning course. In 2017, I finally moved to the Vienna area to finish my studies locally.
In the following years, I began to think more and more about how I could serve others with the knowledge and skills I had acquired during my studies. Already as a young adult I had been involved in children's and youth work in my parish in Wolfsberg and later, during my theology studies, also in the Evangelical Free Church in Mödling. In addition, I regularly looked after the two children of my then landlord for about three years. So it became increasingly clear to me that my vocation lies in working with children and young people, which is why I started studying to become a teacher with a focus on religious education in October 2020. While my focus at the beginning was primarily on religious education, I soon developed a passion for teaching children at the primary level in general.
For this reason, I am very happy to be part of the Mayflower Christian Academy team. It is my concern to accompany the children on their way and to support them in fully
