Mag. Johannes Siegmund

My name is Johannes Benjamin Siegmund and I grew up in Vienna as the youngest of three siblings in a Christian family. After finishing compulsory school, I decided to attend a secondary school for industrial engineering and successfully completed it, but already in the third year I realized that I didn't want to pursue this career path after graduating from high school.

Instead, I started studying to become a teacher of German, history and political education at the University of Vienna and realized very early on that it was particularly important to me not only to want to teach the students entrusted to me, but also to accompany, support and encourage them in the best possible way.

I am firmly convinced that “subduing the earth”, as it says in Genesis, does not mean ruling over what is made available to us as we see fit, but above all includes the invitation to take a close look at everything, to explore the earth and its secrets, to recognize connections and to try to strive for the best possible together, focusing above all on God's plan for his creation and us.

Over the past five years, I have taught at a school with reversed inclusion and experienced intensively what it means to explore the world together with my colleagues and the children in theory and, albeit on a much smaller scale, in practice.

I am glad that I have been able to work at Mayflower Christian Academy since the beginning of this school year together with a great and committed team and I look forward to accompanying and supporting your child in the important stage of their school life.
